Still a bit stunned, I am delighted to be able to announced that my recent piece Meeting the Universe Halfway (2018) has been nominated for an Ivors Academy Composers Award, formerly the British Composer Awards. The final results will be announced at the awards ceremony in London on December 4th. Obviously this is a massive honour and privilege - it means such a vast amount just to be nominated. The hugest of thanks are due to The House of Bedlam, for whom the piece was written last year. Without their unquestioning help and support this project would never have come to fruition - I am so massively in your debt. Equal huge thanks are also due to my home institution, Bath Spa University, who most generously supported the project through their quality research fund.
